West Midlands-based e-business transformation consultancy Viretec Consulting is celebrating its third anniversary.

The Coventry company is helping clients to develop virtual businesses that offer the professionalism of traditional firms but without the need for premises. It helps business to adopt e-business strategies for more efficient operation.

Viretec Consulting principal Denis Pelych was director of the National B2B Centre at Warwick and responsible for offering consultancy and developing ICT for SMEs.

"My idea for Viretec came as a spin-off from the B2B Centre work as I wanted to offer clients more than they could get under the constraints of the funding available," he said. "We now focus on everything from consulting and drawing up specifications to managing and implementing a company's e-business concepts.

"It is no longer a case of businesses adopting ICT and getting to grips with what it can do, but of transforming their model for business delivery through web technology. Business owners are recognising the potential of ICT to provide significant productivity and growth."

One client, Redditch fenestration company Plastex, can expect savings of over half a million pounds over ten years thanks to consulting Viretec about a new survey data capture and management solution.

Plastex managing director Roger Hussell said: "In a highly competitive marketplace having streamlined and cost-efficient processes has to be top priority. Viretec Consulting helped us use ICT to address costly errors from difficult field survey conditions. The system works so well it has been a real hit with field survey staff. It is not only saving us money but delivering additional customer service." and sales opportunity benefits."
