Steve Brown, managing director of Trinity Mirror Midlands – which publishes the Birmingham Post, the Birmingham Mail and the Sunday Mercury – has left the business as part of a restructure by parent company Trinity Mirror.

Mr Brown, who also had responsibility for Trinity Mirror’s operations in the North East, had been with the company for 15 years, first as managing director of the Gazette Media Company in Teesside and latterly as regional managing director for the North East and Midlands.

Georgina Harvey, managing director of Trinity Mirror Regionals, said: “As part of an ongoing review of our business and in light of the continuing challenging trading conditions, I have taken the decision to restructure the management of our businesses in the North East and Midlands. I would like to thank Steve for his tremendous leadership and outstanding contribution to the success of our North East business.”

Also leaving the Midlands business as part of the restructure are Jane Nugent, Regional Development Editor, and Regional Financial Director Mick Beale.

John Griffith, MD of BPM Media in Birmingham, and Debbie Davies, MD at the Coventry Telegraph, remain in their roles.
