A Midlands theatre is looking for art-loving businesses to sponsor plays.
The Belgrade Theatre, in Coventry said the move will help it develop its relationships with the business community.
Benefits of sponsoring a production include tickets to bring colleagues and clients along to see a performance, use of the theatre as a venue to hold meetings and conferences, having company information included in all of the show's press releases, and an opportunity to display the company's literature in the theatre's public areas.
The theatre has already taken one company on as sponsors in their new initiative, Coventry-based kitchen manufacturers Burbidge & Son.
The company will be sponsoring a forthcoming production called One Night in November.
Burbidge managing director Ben Burbidge said: "We see ourselves as trendsetters in the Coventry business community and as a result seized the opportunity to be the first company to sponsor a production at the newly refurbished Belgrade Theatre.
"In order that Coventry can benefit from a thriving Arts scene, we understand that it is essential that the business community backs the Belgrade Theatre's productions, however, as a business, we are very aware that this must also be a commercial viable decision.
"The sponsorship package that the Belgrade Theatre suggested to us supported our aims and objectives very well."
And David Jane, the theatre's head of development, welcomed the company, saying: "We're delighted that Burbidge & Son have decided to sponsor One Night in November.
"The Belgrade Theatre is at the forefront of the Arts scene within Coventry and its surrounding areas and as a result attracts around 180,000 people through its doors every year.
"The theatre regularly creates a number of home-produced shows that receive substantial press coverage both locally and nationally, and the benefits to local companies can be really significant."
