The chief executive of Staffordshire-based Tamba Internet has been named as the winner of the woman in technology and engineering category at the Network of Aspiring Women Awards 2011.

The win for Kay Hammond comes at a successful time for Tamba after the digital marketing agency also picked up the top gong in the social category at the recent 2011 COGS Awards.

She said: “It’s fantastic to have won this award – I am completely stunned. The other nominees are all inspirational individuals and to be named as the winner, by judges that I truly admire, is a huge, huge honour.

“It’s been a great few months for us and I’m looking forward to working with the team at Tamba to take the company from strength to strength”.

Judge Caroline Waters, director of people and policy at BT, said: “The judges immediately saw that Kay is a true success in a male dominated world and a tricky market place. Her 30,000 twitter followers and clients such as Kylie Minogue truly demonstrate that she practises what she preaches.”
