Birmingham City Students’ Union has become the latest client won by BAM Student Marketing.

The company offers commercial services to student organisations and provides businesses with a central route to advertise to students through official student organisation media across the UK.

Birmingham City Students’ Union will be entrusting BAM Student Marketing to exclusively handle all of its advertising sales in the run up to the new academic year.

The university boasts a student population of around 25,000, spread over eight campuses. With three large universities within the city, understandably students are an important part of Birmingham’s local economy and a key sector for businesses to engage with.

Birmingham City Council principal economist Hamish Wilson said: “Birmingham is a leading student destination and as such the student population makes a significant and growing contribution to the city’s economy. The sizeable student population has considerable spending power as well as contributing to the vibrancy of the city.”

In September, Birmingham’s universities will be welcoming back more than 63,000 students, many of whom will be new students moving to the city and away from home for the first time.

BAM’s work will begin with the annual Freshers’ Fayre in September, and also include poster boards in the student union building and advertisements in Spaghetti Junction, the official students’ magazine for Birmingham City University.
