A global branding agency has set up its headquarters at Fazeley Studios in Digbeth.

Shed Brand Innovation was founded by entrepreneurs and brand experts Angelique Green and Stuart Ruff who already boast an international client list, including Coca Cola, Santa Fe Natural Tobacco and their newest client, Cayman Islands Film Festival. A second Shed office is set to open in Charleston later this year.

According to a spokesman, Shed specialises in bringing new brands or new products to market, helping them to think ahead of the curve and keeping create novel ideas.

Angelique Green, founder of Shed, started her career working in Starbucks in San Francisco, before being sent to open the firm’s first branches in England. She went on to open Starbucks in 32 countries. By the time Angelique left the company to work for Birmingham-based creative agency, Boxer, Starbucks had grown from 400 to 11,000 branches.

Stuart Ruff, co-founder of Shed, also previously worked for creative agency Boxer, where he met Angelique. In his 20-year career he has worked for house hold names such as Tesco, Levi, Vodafone, Mothercare, Clarkes and McDonald’s.

Angelique said: “When we decided to set up Shed we looked across the UK for somewhere to found our business. When we walked through the doors of Fazeley Studios, we thought, ‘this is home, this is where we want to be’. It is a beautiful, inspirational setting full of creative energy and entrepreneurial spirit.

“A lot of our clients are from the US but they chose to work with a British agency because the UK is known for having an eye for high quality design. Regional UK firms tend to have a friendly, down to earth approach and a strong, humble work ethic, which suits the way that American businesses work, outside New York at least. It’s a great cultural fit.”

Shed Brand Innovation’s host of projects to date include an ‘imagination workshop’ for Coca Cola and creating from scratch a new brand of chocolate, Wicked and Wonderful, which they took from conception to market in the space of just nine months.

Fazeley Studios’ other tenants include Maverick Television, One Black Bear, Rice Media, Madison Soho, Time Etc and Tomorrow People.
