Midlands agency Seal Communications is to launch a new tourism campaign for Staffordshire.
Staffordshire Destination Management Partnership plans to implement a media relations drive to promote the county on a national scale to try to encourage more visitors to the region.
The appointment adds to the agency’s portfolio of clients in the tourism sector including Invest in Shropshire, Heart of London and recent acquisition, Marketing Birmingham.
Katie Morris, chief executive of Seal Communications, said: “We delighted to be working with Staffordshire DMP to raise the profile of the county’s tourism offer.
“Staffordshire has a genuinely diverse range of visitor attractions from world-class theme parks to historic stately homes and we are very much looking forward to putting these on the map.”
The ongoing PR campaign will target travel and consumer journalists within the press, broadcast and online media sectors.
Bob Keys, chairman of Staffordshire DMP’S press and PR sub group, said: “We were impressed with Seal’s track record in the tourism and leisure sectors as well as the ideas they presented for raising the profile of Staffordshire as a holiday destination.
“People from the area recognise the beauty of the region as well as the fantastic range of things to see and do. PR will play a vital role in spreading this message further afield.” Staffordshire DMP was formed in April 2006 in a bid to maximise tourism through a unified strategy.
