Suzie Norton, the boss of regional screen agency Screen WM, has stepped down.
Ms Norton’s departure after three and a half years as chief executive comes as Screen WM is being wound down to be replaced by a new national body Creative England.
Ms Norton said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Screen WM and I’m extremely proud of the team for firmly positioning the Midlands as a leading location for the creative industries.
“With a new support structure for the screen industries about to be launched, I feel it is the right time for me to leave and move on the next challenge.
“In the meantime I’m very proud to be involved in a voluntary capacity in UpRising, a scheme delivered by the Young Foundation to support and develop leaders of the future.”
John Newbigin, chairman of Screen England and Creative England, said: “Suzie has been a highly effective and focused chief executive who raised both the ambition and the profile of Screen WM.
“She not only developed a strategy for the organisation that re-engineered it for a digital future but made a significant contribution to policy development at a national level, with consequent benefit for other regional screen agencies across England.”
Ms Norton was named Vitalise Business Woman of the Year in October last year.
