Warwickshire-based video games firm Codemasters brought a bit of pre-Christmas cheer to the West Midland job market after it announced it was taking on more than 30 new customer support staff.

The firm’s online gaming department is bringing its in-game customer support staff in-house as part of its plans to develop and expand Codemasters Online.

The firm said the move will provide the opportunity to offer more flexible and fluid customer service, responding quickly to player feedback and suggestions.

Codemasters vice president and general manager David Solari said: “I am very pleased to announce this next step in Codemasters Online’s growth.

“Bringing the online game support in-house has been something we have been working on for some time and we are all very excited at this landmark event.

“We have always had good in-game support and now have the opportunity to take it even further”.

The roles will be created at Codemasters’ headquarters in Southam where the new staff will go under the titles of “senior games masters” and “games masters”.
