Roger Monkman, press and PR executive at Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Industry and deputy editor of ChamberLink magazine, is leaving after nearly ten years.
Mr Monkman, who turned 65 last week, will continue to take on PR work on a freelance basis.
He will be replaced by Sue Cooke, who previously ran her own PR business with a focus on the automotive sector.
Before his career in PR, Mr Monkman was editor of the Sandwell Evening Mail and deputy editor on the Coventry Evening Telegraph.
Mr Monkman once featured on the front page of the Evening Mail under the headline “Ouch! Lucky escape as man’s car runs over his face” after accidentally leaving his car in reverse while he cleaned the windscreen.
