Warwickshire public relations agency Newsline has won the contract to handle media publicity for Stratforward, the business development project to promote Stratford-upon-Avon town centre.
Chris Gregory, the newly-appointed project director of the Stratforward business improvement district (BID), said the board was happy to continue the association with the Newsline team, which had carried out a nine-month pilot campaign last year, proving it had the necessary skills and media contacts to promote the town far and wide.
Mr Gregory said: “It is important that Stratford is promoted locally, regionally and nationally and, as I have quickly discovered, Newsline has a proven track record with a number of leisure and tourism venues, including Hatton Country World and Warwick Racecourse.”
Peter Robinson, a director of Newsline PR in Leamington, said: “Stratforward is an exciting project to be involved with and we are looking forward again to working with the BID team in helping to raise the profile of the town.”
Stratforward’s mission is to bring more people into Stratford town centre, make them stay longer, spend more and leave happy. The BID is charged with delivering a comprehensive marketing strategy – to increase and develop events and festivals, the introduction of a town host programme, new street entertainment as well as offering a range of business support initiatives.
Stratforward has a five-year minimum project life span and collects and manages a budget of more than £1.75 million.
