McCann Erickson Birmingham is toasting a busy month working with clients npower on the England 2018 bid and Ember Inns on its NovEmber Ale Festival.
The agency helped promote npower’s status as official supporter of the England 2018 FIFA World Cup Bid, teaming up with star of the Apprentice Karren Brady who launched new research on behalf of npower that showed the boost to SMEs a World Cup in England would bring.
Despite England failing to win the bid, the agency managed to secure a great deal of national press coverage for its client.
Meanwhile McCann helped promote Ember Inns’ ale festival, with 12 ales to promote including one headline-grabbing ‘Project Green’ ale that was uniquely brewed from hops fresh from the field rather than dried.
McCann was tasked with driving footfall, raising awareness of the festival and continuing the work to make Ember famous for cask.
And the agency rounded off the month with success at the Cream Awards.
Challenged by a limited budget, the team, led by Tim Jones and James Cross, developed a cost-effective, audience-grabbing radio campaign for Teletext Holidays – consequently taking home two Best Radio Ad gongs for ‘Sunburn’ and ‘Budgie Smuggler.’
McCann Erickson Birmingham chief executive Dean Lovett said: “Taking home six out of eight possible Cream awards is a fantastic achievement.”
