American mobile computer manufacturer Juniper Systems has formed a new division and opened a European office in the Midlands. The base will stock Juniper products and offer a service facility for customers and partners.

A team of sales and engineering personnel will be based at the new Bromsgrove headquarters and several more positions could be created over the coming months.

The firm has appointed Simon Bowe as general manager of newly-formed Juniper Systems to spearhead UK and European operations. It will also be the focal point of the manufacturer’s Middle Eastern business.

Mr Bowe has held senior sales and management positions with computer manufacturers during his 30 years within the IT sector. Prior to joining Juniper Systems, he spent 10 years with rival DAP Technologies.

“We are fortunate to have Simon Bowe as our general manager. He will be a great asset to our company, and we feel confident in his ability to effectively carry out the goals and objectives of the new centre. Our new European division is going to enable us to respond to customer needs faster,” said DeVon Labrum, vice-president of sales and marketing at Juniper Systems.

“We are excited to provide this benefit to many of our international partners and customers, and hope that they will experience a higher level of service because of it.”

Founded in 1993 Juniper Systems designs, manufactures and services handheld computers for mobile data collection in extreme environments.

Its products are designed and manufactured in Utah, USA, and are used across all industrial sectors.
