A local dog trainer from Solihull has been selected from thousands of small businesses in the region to star in her own advertising campaign across Birmingham and the Midlands.

Jenni Tabb, owner of Shirley-based “The Animal Business” – a dog training and pet care business – is appearing on more than 250 giant 48-sheet billboards with her canine clients to help launch new online company Signposter.com.

The firm is launching a new service designed to help small businesses in the region access outdoor advertising space such as billboards, on the side of buses and on bus stop posters that usually feature larger brands from ‘blue chip’ organisations.
Ms Tabb said was delighted to be picked for the campaign.

She said: “Nothing has ever happened to me like this before. I couldn’t believe it when I got a phone call from signposter.com asking me if I wanted to front the launch of their new service. I really thought it was a complete wind up!

“As a small business, I have always been reliant on word-of-mouth, so when this opportunity came along I jumped at the chance. Whilst the campaign has only just started, lots of my customers and family and friends have been ringing me up saying they have seen my face across the city. I hope now that this will help my business move forward.”

London-based Signposter said it hoped to offer small companies a chance to design their own outdoor advertisement and then choose a poster site of their choice across the region.

The firm is holding an event at Edgbaston Cricket Ground this Thursday to explain the concept to interested small businesses.
Simon Read of Signposter said: “The visual impact of outdoor advertising, along with the fact that we only really see superbrands such as Coca-Cola and all the major car brands on billboards, has created a perception amongst many small businesses that outdoor advertising is far too expensive.

“This is a complete myth.

“Not only is it extrmely cost-effective, but the return it can have for a business is second to none.”
