The owner of a Midland graphic design and advertising company is trading on his company’s cow-themed branding by launching a series of humorous fine art prints.

Former fine-art student Nick Herd, who runs Leamington Spa-based Moo Design, is going back to his roots with the artworks.

He said: “I have always maintained an interest in art and have had so many positive comments about our company’s Friesian cow design down the years, I decided to turn it in to real art, that everyone can enjoy.

“I took inspiration from the credit crunch for one of the first prints and the ideas flowed from there.

“At school and on my art foundation course I loved screen printing and consistently used clear, defined shapes and colour, which had an influence on my work.

“Warwick Studios has agreed to display the first three pieces, which is an accolade in itself, and I hope people enjoy them.”

Three of his pieces – How Now Brown Cow, Peppered Beef and Credit Crunch – will be on show in the studios in his home town as part of his Follow the Herd series.

David Sands, owner of Warwick Studios, said: “We have exhibited a great number of artists over the years and are delighted to showcase Nick’s work.

“It is eye-catching and has a real sense of humour, so we are sure it will prove popular.”
