A Birmingham company is behind a national campaign urging the public to phone a dedicated hotline if they smell gas, on national TV on Christmas Day.

Fort Dunlop-based Golley Slater Advertising created the campaign funded by the independent distribution networks of National Grid, Northern Gas and Wales and West.

“The TV commercials focus on various giant noses sniffing the air,” said Andy Walton, managing director of Golley Slater Advertising. The large sniffing noses underpin the need to call the Emergency gas number if they smell gas.The simplicity of the TV commercials will stand out on TV in the Christmas and new year ‘Sale Season.’”

“The campaign also breaks, for the first time, on large format outdoor sites on December 29. The posters again focus on various noses and the number to call if you smell gas”. The TV campaign will air from Christmas Day on Central, Granada, Yorkshire, Tyne Tees, Border, HTV and West Country.
