A new West Midland PR service has clinched its first client.

Boom! PR will be helping Mint Restaurant in Sutton Coldfield raise its profile in the consumer and business press.

Owner Dan Ralley appointed Birmingham-based Boom! PR to publicise the restaurant and develop its presence in the business events market.

The entrepreneur, who created a Michelin-star restaurant in Nottingham before launching a successful restaurant-bar in London’s Square Mile, opened Mint in Streetly Village just under a year ago.

Boom! PR was launched by director Paul Skipp after discussions with owners of small and medium-sized businesses about cost-effective ways to market their companies.

Mr Skipp said: “It is quite clear that many business people – like Dan – do not accept the old adage that spending on PR, marketing and advertising is the first to be cut in a recession.

“The message I hear over and over again is that the more enlightened entrepreneur knows recessions also create fantastic opportunities for brave companies to grab a larger share of their market.

“They know this is an opportunity for them to grow their business by raising their profile above their rivals. “

“However, because budgets are being squeezed they need a helping hand. That is why we have created Boom! PR.”

Mr Skipp also runs Paul Skipp PR, founded 11 years ago after a 13-year career in journalism at regional and national newspapers.
