The Midlands branch of the Journalists’ Charity has revealed Fern Britton will be the special guest at its second celebrity lunch of 2014 being held this autumn.
The former host of Ready, Steady Cook, BBC Breakfast Time and ITV’s This Morning will be talking about her life and career and taking questions from the audience at the event on Thursday October 16 at the Botanical Gardens, Edgbaston.
The second event follows a sell-out celebrity lunch which featured John Snow in March, held at Villa Park.
The Midlands branch normally holds one such event each year but has added an additional one to this year’s roster as part of celebrations to mark the historic charity’s 150th anniversary.
Since being established the Journalists’ Charity has worked to support journalists in need and as well as distributing grants. It also runs a care home for retired journalists and their dependents in Dorking, Surrey.
Midlands branch chairman Steve Dann said: “We are delighted Fern has agreed to join us, she has worked on some of the country’s most popular shows and is one of the biggest names in television.
“I would advise people to book their tickets now for what we are sure will be a very popular event.”
Tickets cost £48 with a table of 10 priced at £450. For further information contact the Journalists’ Charity Midlands secretary Val Deeley on 01562 883290 or email email@example.com.
