The Digbeth pub at the centre of a noise dispute is gearing up for a street party to raise funds to install soundproofing measures.

The Rainbow is holding the Raise the Roof event on Saturday to raise £30,000 for a roof over its courtyard after being served with a noise abatement order by Birmingham City council.

It follows complaints from people living in nearby newly-built flats about music from established venues being audible. The pub’s landlord Kent Davis believes complaints from just one local resident have resulted in the noise abatement order.

It has sent letters to local residents with details of the event and a hotline to ring in case of any disturbance.
