A Coventry business park measured up perfectly for an international company looking to expand its UK operation.

Faro Technologies, the market leader in portable measurement technology, has marked its 10th birthday with a major move to the Cobalt Centre on Middlemarch Business Park in Coventry.

The move coincides with another significant landmark in the company’s history – the 1,000th sale of its Faro Arm, a highly accurate, three-dimensional measurement device, capable of accuracies up to five per cent of a human hair.

Faro UK is a supplier to a broad range of companies in the manufacturing sector, ranging from blue chip companies to family-managed precision engineering businesses.

With customers including Jaguar, Airbus, BAE Systems, Bentley and BMW, Faro UK has increased its sales force by 60 per cent this year, and employs 30 people at its new offices at the Cobalt Centre, which is also its UK headquarters.

Area vice-president David Homewood said: “We initially set up in Coventry because of its central location and strong manufacturing base.

“Although the landscape of the manufacturing sector has changed in the city it still offers a strong foundation of engineering expertise.

“The continued growth of the company led to us needing larger premises, and after an extensive search we opted to go for the Cobalt Centre.

“There were a number of reasons. The premises were new, with excellent transport links close to Coventry airport, and they offer fantastic views over open countryside.”

The Cobalt Centre is jointly marketed by commercial property agents Bromwich Hardy and Shortland Horne and offers units ranging from 2,250 sq ft to 3,120 sq ft.

Chris Swan, managing director of Cobalt Developments, said: “The Cobalt Centre is already home to companies in a range of sectors and an ideal development for businesses due to its central location.

“The fact that an international company such as Faro Technologies has chosen the Cobalt Centre to expand its UK office just goes to show the standard that the development offers.”

There are four units left. For more information, contact Bromwich Hardy on 02476 308900 or Shortland Horne on 02476 232970.
