Channel 4 has announced the appointment of a digital commissioning manager for 4iP in the West Midlands to be located at the offices of regional screen agency Screen WM.

The role will be undertaken by Claire Hancock who has already been working on 4iP as Channel 4’s development manager in the nations and regions department.

The 4 Innovation for the Public fund – 4iP – was set up to invest in people and companies across a range of sectors who have ideas on how to deliver services for the public on digital media platforms.

Ms Hancock’s remit will be to manage all 4iP submissions and projects from the region and manage and develop existing and new partnerships within the West Midlands.

The role will involve working with Screen WM, who has partnered with Channel 4 on 4iP, and Screen WM’s head of innovation Jason Hall will work closely with Ms Hancock to deliver the agency’s Digital Media Fund, the regional match-funding to 4iP.

Ms Hancock said: “There is a massive opportunity to deliver innovative projects from the wealth of talent in the region.”
