We continue our Q&As with the technology finalists in 2015 BYPY by meeting the founder of Action Starter. Simon Kaguramamba continues the theme of hating printers, goes back to biblical times and compiles an eclectic mix of business and sport for his dinner party.

Name: Simon Kaguramamba

Job title: Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer

Company: Action Starter

BYPY category: Technology

1) If you could go back in time and have one conversation with one person, dead or alive, who would it be and what would you discuss?

Noah after the floods had resided. We would discuss the moment he was asked to build the ark and I would extract first had information as to how he managed to mentally fight the daily battles from external sources and the internal self doubt that so often forces most of us to abandon those personal life journeys we know we were made to accomplish.

2) Which single element of any city in the world that you have visited would you like to see transplanted into Birmingham?

Central Park in New York. It would create an amazing central multi-use space for the different Birmingham communities to utilise together.

3) Which technological innovation would you happily see consigned to history and what would you like to see invented which doesn't yet exist?

I would gladly love to see printers and the whole concept of printing on paper faded out of society.

I would love to see the invention of a society that is centred around each individual chasing their passion and by so doing contributing their output to a pool of resources that result in a cashless sharing economy.

4) Think about who your ideal dinner guests might be but instead you can only invite their relatives. Who would you choose and what would you ask them?

My ideal guests would be the relatives of Barack Obama, Sir Richard Branson, Usain Bolt and Strive Masiyiwa, the founder of Econet Wireless.

I would ask them to identify and describe one characteristic they believed had hugely influenced the make-up of their famous relative and reveal one thing about them the public did not know already.

5) There are many 'National Days', some more obscure than others, but which one would you like to create that doesn't already exist?

National Give Something Special Away Day when everyone gives away one thing of high personal value.

This could be as simple as valuable time or even attention and must exclude giving away of unwanted gifts. And I would have this national day once every month.

My reason for suggesting this is because I totally believe when you give away your best you get back far more that you gave in the first place.
