A marketing man best known for working on some of the region’s leading property schemes has joined forces with his brother to launch a new online gift business.
Richard Peachey, who now runs his own marketing agency in the Jewellery Quarter after years at Core Marketing in Brindleyplace, has launched Nottheusual.co.uk with his brother Rupert Cross who runs a design and web agency in Stratford upon Avon.
Mr Peachey said the inspiration for the new venture was he and his brother’s inability to find suitable presents for his rapidly-expanding family which includes a further four siblings.
Mr Peachey said the firm had a plan to overcome a competitive market. He said: “Merchandising is a competitive marketplace which is why our business is as much about winning the hearts of our customers by providing great choice and exceptional service as providing a keenly priced product range.
“Our product lines reflect the items that we would buy for our own friends and families, which is why we stock a broad selection of household brands as well as investing in locally produced, unique items that you can’t find anywhere else and which helps support the local economy.”
Not The Usual offers a range of products, including household names Marmite and Pantone homeware, Keep Calm and Carry On as well as products developed by local designer-makers and suppliers.
Mr Cross added: “We come from a large family – with six siblings and an ever-growing numbers of babies joining the brood, we know that it’s sometimes difficult to find the perfect present. A little inspiration is a great thing, especially when it is combined with an easy online transaction.”
