West Midlands radio station Kerrang! Radio has announced that its late night Friday night show will now be broadcast from New York.
Presenter Ian Camfield will host the Kerrang! Show from 10pm to 1am, replacing Yvette Fielding’s Fright Night.
The show is broadcast from New York’s K-Rock studios where Camfield also presents the drivetime slot.
The Essex-born presenter left XFM last year for the move to the US, but continued to present a weekly show for the London station after his departure. The Kerrang! move will see Ian leave XFM after 10 years.
Programme director Gordon Davidson said “Ian is joining Kerrang! Radio as our ‘Brit abroad’, he really knows his rock music and the Kerrang! Show will be a great kick-start for the weekend.”
Camfield said: ‘‘For a decade I had a weekly show where I could play the best in all things rock. That was always my favourite programme and I have missed it immensely this year.
“I am extremely excited to be returning to UK airwaves with this format and to be doing it with Kerrang!”
Camfield’s first show on Kerrang! Radio will be on July 25.
