A digital gaming firm set up in Birmingham just six months ago is preparing to launch its first game.
OOP! Games Studio, based in Birmingham Science Park, is bringing out a platform game called Flyball Champ.
OOP! consists of four partners – Charlie Horn, Chris Chadwick, James Wood and Joe Richardson – and the firm is part of the Entrepreneurs for the Future Scheme (e4f), an incubator initiative for tech startups based at the firm’s office on the science park.
OOP! creative director Charlie Horn said Flyball Champ would initially be released online, with an iPhone version coming out shortly after.
"It’s a platform game where all you are pressing is a jump," he said. "It’s about timing the jump so you can get to other areas."
He said the firm’s next game Dead Faction would be on a larger scale, meaning the company would be looking to take on extra staff.
"There are four of us involved at the moment as partners but when we get our first big release we will need a couple of staff working with us."
