Birmingham PR and events company Big Cat Group has taken over a London-based ‘experience marketing’ agency.

Big Cat has acquired House of Experience, specialists in live or experience marketing – a strategy that aims to directly engage consumers with brands.

Big Cat said the acquisition will allow it to enhance and expand its marketing division to new and existing clients, which includes the likes of Emirates and Western Union.

Nick Morgan, Big Cat Group’s CEO, who bought House of Experience's shares for an undisclosed sum, said: “This acquisition sends out a strong signal of our intentions to become a force to be reckoned with.

''At a time when we are winning more business than ever, we are thrilled to be in a position to expand our offering. With House of Experience on board, their experiential insights will help us deliver truly creative, engaging marketing campaigns unlike any other agency.”

Benjamin Reed, creative director at House of Experience, added: “This deal brings together two of the most creative marketing agencies in the UK and we couldn’t be happier to be part of the Big Cat Group.

“The firm is enjoying great success both in terms of new business wins and industry recognition and we’re looking forward to getting under the skin of its clients to show what benefits experiential-led campaigns can have on the bottom line.”

Big Cat Group, which was founded 13 years ago, offers marketing, PR and design through Big Cat, and event management specialism The Fair, which was founded in October 2013. With offices in Birmingham and London, the agency specialises in events, leisure and third sector clients and has produced numerous award-winning integrated marketing campaigns.
