PR and design agency Barques has expanded its team after winning a series of new clients.

The Jewellery Quarter-based agency has appointed new head of development Andy Swinburne and PR account executive Suzie Parsons.

Andy Swinburne, who was previously technical director at Birmingham-based digital marketing agency LHM Media, takes on a newly created role and will be responsible for overseeing website design as well as building bespoke client packages for new and prospective clients.

Director Jilly Cosgrove said: "Barques is always evolving to fit the ever-changing shape of the industry.

"Clients are becoming increasingly media savvy and, as such, are demanding a 360-degree service.

"Andy's ten years of experience, teamed with our young, energetic digital team, will give a new dimension to the work we do - I'm excited to see what Andy brings to Barques."

Ms Parsons studied at Birmingham City University and joins Barques from Bullring where she was marketing co-ordinator.

She will be responsible for media liaison, press releases and managing social media campaigns across the company's client base.

Barques' PR director Paul Skipp said: "We're pleased to welcome Suzie to the team and I'm sure she's going to be a major asset.

"PR is constantly changing and our team is growing to reflect that and to ensure we maintain the high levels of service our clients have come to expect.

"We have recently secured new clients in the legal, property, insurance and arts sectors so it's been a great start to the year for Barques."
