PR and communications agency Cogent Elliott has won a brief to work with hot drinks brand Cafédirect.

The Meriden-based agency won a three-way pitch after the London-based company's previous agency decided not to re-pitch for the £2 million account.

Cafédirect was founded in 1989 and claims to have brought the first Faitrade-certified coffee to the UK.

Cafédirect's marketing director Paola Bassi said: "Cogent is the ideal partner to step change our brand performance and impressed with its capabilities, attitude and fit."

Cogent Elliott's chief executive Mike Phillipson added: "Cafédirect has an amazing business model and ethic that distinguishes it from the rest of the sector, which we will look to amplify."

Cogent Elliott has also worked with brands such as luxury cooker manufacturer Aga, retailer Halfords and Redrow Homes.
