Planning, design and construction specialist Anglo Holt has helped a scouting group be prepared for the future with a new headquarters.
Young members of the Wythall Scout Group in South Birmingham are looking forward to a new headquarters building thanks to the help of West Bromwich-based Anglo Holt Construction and volunteers raising funds to the tune of £100,000.
Scout leaders and parents secured the complimentary support of Anglo Holt’s planning and design team to conceive the best solution and steer the project through the complex planning process. Despite a green belt location the expertise of the planners provided a vote winning consultation document that identified the benefits to young people in the local community.
Carl Sheppard, Anglo Holt Construction’s planning and design director, said: “We are pleased to join with the many volunteers to widen the appeal and the facilities of what is essentially a part of the local community. This has really been a brick by brick building exercise with parents, friends and family sponsoring individual bricks.”
Under the banner of HQ Panther Project, fund-raising activities include sponsorship of a 5km fun run and a challenging 900 mile Lands End to John O’ Groats cycle ride to be completed in eight days.
