Construction of a speculatively built small unit property scheme in the Black Country has started.

Phase two of Bentley Bridge Business Park, in Wolverhampton, is being developed by Clowes Developments UK and is due for completion by February.

The new scheme will consist of a range of units up to 33,000 sq ft and is aimed at companies from sectors such as retail trade counter, warehousing and manufacturing.

James Richards, development director at Clowes Developments UK, said: "Following the success of phase one, which is fully let, we are confident that phase two will be successful.

"We decided to develop the scheme speculatively as we believe that there is sufficient demand to cater for the new units and allow us to offer new stock immediately to these occupiers."

Property firms DTZ and JLL are joint marketing agents on the business park.

Jonathan Robinson, from of DTZ's industrial agency team, added: "Bentley Bridge has established itself as key location for the industrial, retail and leisure sectors in Wolverhampton.

"The phase two development has been eagerly awaited by occupiers in the area.

"There have been some positive signs of improvement in the local economy and we have seen several enquiries forthcoming from both existing and new companies looking to expand and put down their roots in the local area.

"We are very much looking forward to launching phase two and already have some very strong interest in the form of pre-lets and pre-sales."
