Birmingham solicitors Williamson & Soden has appointed Terry Minor as head of its commercial property department.

Mr Minor joins the firm from Stratford-upon-Avon law firm, Lodders, where he was a partner for 20 years. As part of his new role with Williamson & Soden, he will be responsible for the management of the successful commercial property department and its future growth. Mr Minor said: “The department is made up of highly dedicated people, including six specialist commercial property lawyers. My aim is to open up new opportunities for them and confirm the department’s position as a leading provider of commercial property services. I relish this new challenge. I have been doing business with Williamson & Soden for the last 20 years and am delighted to now be a member of the team that will drive forward its development.”

Mr Minor will be working closely with other departments, in particular the corporate, residential conveyancing, private client and family law teams.

“Despite other major firms shedding specialist commercial property lawyers due to the economic downturn, we have been growing and developing our client offering in niche sectors,” said founding partner John Soden.

“Now, as the firm enters the next stage of its development, we are delighted to welcome someone of Terry’s calibre. His property law know-how and business acumen, coupled with many years of management experience at partner level, will be put to good use helping us to provide clients with a wide range of services in the commercial property sector.”
