The West Midlands Pension Fund has secured one of the highest profile office lettings of the year with the announcement that the top floor of 35 Newhall Street has been let to an international legal firm.

Law firm Kennedys has taken 8,450 ft of space at the scheme which is still considered one of the best located offices in the city centre due to its proximity to Colmore Row and New Street and Snow Hill stations.

Kennedys is a legal firm with unrivalled expertise in litigation and dispute resolution with over 650 staff globally, across eight UK and seven international locations.

King Sturge and KWB act as joint agents on 35 Newhall Street. Jonathan Carmalt, partner of the office agency team at King Sturge who negotiated the deal, said: “This letting to Kennedys is one of the landmark office agency transactions of 2009 so far.

“The landlord at 35 Newhall Street was able to accommodate Kennedys’ exacting and high standards and agree terms, enabling them to move to this very prestigious office building.”

Law firm Capsticks has already taken part of the ground floor at 35 Newhall Street and relocated to the building in 2008. The remaining accommodation comprises ground floor, first, second, third and fourth floors, totaling 43,989 sq ft insuites from 5,633 sq ft.
