A carton board, graphical board and paper stockist is moving into new premises in West Bromwich following an £800,000 refurbishment project.

Warren Board Sales has taken a 10-year lease on a 42,491 sq ft unit, in Hill Top Industrial Estate, from where it will operate Warren Converters.

The Leicester-based firm is an independent stockist to carton converters, paper merchants and commercial/general print companies.

Its new site in West Bromwich will enable it to offer a new in-house converting service including reel-to-sheet, rewinding and guillotining as well as offering additional storage capacity.

After outsourcing the converting service side of the business for many years, the company made the decision to bring the service in house, which required significant investment in premises, plant and staff.

Managing director Kieran Ferguson said: "We have had the concrete floor prepared ready for the installation of the machines that will guillotine products to size and will re-wind from reels of board up to four tonnes, to smaller reels, palletising and shrink wrapping our products to be delivered in to customers on pallets.

"The space we have in West Bromwich will also enable us to store some stock for our customers."

The building is owned by London & Cambridge Properties which carried out the refurbishment programme that included new roof and cladding, a new warehouse floor, new heating and lighting and complete redecoration throughout.

Industrial property manager Andrew Preston said: "We're pleased to support an established business expansion in to the West Midlands to begin a new service offering for its customers. Our policy of offering good quality units, continues to attract tenants."
