A Stratford-upon-Avon retail warehouse is to be transformed into a day centre for adults with physical or learning disabilities.
Marketed jointly by agents CPBigwood and Tim Cox & Associates, the property at 21 Western Road has been taken on a six year lease by Avon Support Ltd.
It will be providing social care support for up to 30 people, creating 15-20 jobs in the process, and is already up and running.
Avon Support was formed in 2011 and has been hiring facilities at Tyler House Youth Centre in the town.
Directors are Sue Courtney and Marie Soros, who formerly worked for Warwickshire County Council and have 45 years experience between them.
James Ironmonger, Commercial Property Manager for CPBigwood in Stratford, said: “It may seem unusual to turn a typical retail ‘shed’ into a social care centre but it should work really well.
“This is a vital service for Stratford and we wish Sue and Marie our best wishes for its development.”
