A well known Midlands surveyor, auctioneer and sports enthusiast has died aged 70.

Tim Elliott, FRICS, passed away peacefully on May 8 at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton following a protracted illness.

Until recently Mr Elliott was senior partner of Chartered Surveyors Phipps & Pritchard of Kidderminster, Stourport and Bridgnorth and as from January 1 this year became a senior consultant with Phipps & Pritchard with McCartneys, following the merger of the two practices.

Mr Elliott, an old boy of Bromsgrove School, served articles with Luce & Silvers, Auctioneers & Estate Agents of Bromsgrove and joined Phipps & Pritchard in 1962. He became a partner in 1967 and completed his 50 years service in February of this year, having been appointed senior partner in 1990.

A keen sportsman, Mr Elliott was a former captain, chairman and president of Hagley Cricket Club and a recent captain and committee member of Kidderminster Golf Club.

His past interests also included Kidderminster Round Table and ‘41’ Club of which he has been past chairman and president respectively.

An acknowledged and accomplished auctioneer, Mr Elliott was a director and former chairman of Kidderminster Market Auctions Ltd.

Through the conduct of property sales during his 50 year career Mr Elliott touched the lives of thousands of individuals; his valuation and negotiation prowess was well known throughout the area and his professional advice was sought by numerous local and regional business clients together with national corporates.

A spokesperson for Phipps & Pritchard with McCartneys said Mr Elliott would be greatly missed by family, friends, business associates and all at the firm saying: “The general feeling currently endured by all is best summed up by a tribute received from one competing fellow chartered surveyor in “that his loss is irreplaceable and the local professional community has lost one of the true, honourable, professional and likeable chartered surveyors’.”
