Aldi has signed up for a new neighbourhood food store at Edgbaston Mill.

The proposals will create a new store on the development opposite Warwickshire County Cricket Club.

Aldi is currently consulting on its proposals for the new food store which have recently been submitted to the council. The wider regeneration scheme for Edgbaston Mill, promoted by Calthorpe Estates, received planning permission in 2003 for apartments, a new food store (the proposed Aldi) and non-food retailing, leisure, restaurants, office accommodation and carparking.

A spokesperson for Aldi commented:

“This is a great opportunity to deliver additional choice for Edgbaston. The proposed store will sit comfortably within the new Edgbaston Mill development and offer a new facility for the wider neighbourhood to enjoy. Aldi can offer significant savings and additional choice which we believe will be greatly appreciated by the wider community.
