Shaylor Construction has been appointed on a new project at Lordswood Girls’ School and Sixth Form Centre in Harborne.

The company is building a new £822,000 two-storey extension, which is scheduled for completion in April.

This latest education contract follows Shaylor’s successful completion of phase one of the new Centre of Refurbishment Excellence (CoRE), a £11.4 million national centre of excellence for sustainable building skills in Stoke-on-Trent.

Shaylor has also constructed a £700,000 engineering facility at North Warwickshire & Hinckley College and its Special Projects division is currently carrying out refurbishment works to a residential listed building at Shrewsbury School.

Shaylor is also building a £7.1 million Performing Arts Centre for King Edward’s School, Birmingham and its sister school, King Edward VI High School for Girls, and has recently completed three refurbishment and new build projects with Lend Lease at primary schools across Birmingham in Summerfield, Regents Park and Greet, the first to be remodelled through the Primary Capital programme.
