National property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton has been appointed by the Homes and Communities Agency to advise on bids received for the £284 million Local Infrastructure Fund (LIF).

The LIF, which was announced as part of the Government’s 2012 Autumn Statement, has the potential to transform infrastructure across the UK through the unlocking of stalled local projects.

It is specifically focused on accelerating the delivery of large housing sites, in addition to expanding the employment space available within Enterprise Zones.

Steve Hemming, regional director of planning & consultancy at LSH’s Birmingham office, said: “Our team has significant experience with large scale developments and due diligence, and clearly understands the needs of the HCA in this project.

"It will revitalise UK infrastructure and open up large development opportunities.”
