An office complex in the heart of Birmingham's business district is undergoing a £2.5 million renovation and has been given a new name.

Aspect Court, which was acquired by Birmingham-based Nurton Developments last year as part of a joint venture with a private investor, is now called No.4 Temple Row.

Nurton is also giving the building, on the corner of Temple Row and Bull Street, a major makeover to create 24,000 sq ft of office space.

It is due for completion this autumn and, according to Nurton, is aiming to take advantage of a lack of short-term availability of office space between 2,500 and 5,000 sq ft in the city centre.

The refurbishment work will see the façade of the building cleaned and repaired and the windows replaced throughout alongside an enlarged reception area.

Two new, high-speed lifts will be installed and the office levels will have raised floors.

Rupert Young, development director at Nurton, said: "Whilst there are a number of large-scale schemes in the medium to long-term pipeline, the supply of high-quality space currently available is dwindling.

"More schemes need to be geared towards the 2,500 to 5,000 sq ft occupier where a shortfall is looming.

"2016 will be a year of refurbishments and we are convinced that the newly refurbished No.4 Temple Row will lead that charge."

Property consultancies CBRE and JLL are joint letting agencies on the building.
