Lambert Smith Hampton has been chosen to market office space at The Public, one of the most unusual buildings in the Midlands.

The Public is in the heart of West Bromwich, just 25 minutes from central Birmingham. It will act as the focal point of Sandwell’s £500 million redevelopment.

It is an landmark building for the region, with two floors of versatile office space. These workspaces create a light open space with a dynamic, open plan working environment and they complement a neighbouring gallery space, which makes up the rest of The Public.

The office space is on the second and fourth floors of the building. Fourth floor units are available in sizes from 3,122 sq ft to 15,824 sq ft, while the second floor is a single unit of 9,139 sq ft. The offices boast suspended ceilings and are a mix of open plan and lily pad booths on the fourth floor.

The new gallery is a showcase for permanent and temporary exhibitions from artists around the world, as well as local artists and offers a variety of events, publishing and learning activities.

Amy Haywood, of LSH’s office agency department in Birmingham, which is acting on behalf of Sandwell Council, said: “This truly is a unique building and is likely to appeal particularly to the creative community. Its excellent transport links to Birmingham are a big plus point in its favour.”

Completion is expected this summer.
