Birmingham-based design and construction contractor Buxton is further expanding its team of expertise with the appointment of Colin Lamb as operations director.
He brings more than 20 years of experience as a chartered surveyor, professional consultant and contractor to the post, where he will work alongside managing director John Scott-Lee to further expand the capability of the Midlands business operation.
It's an opportunity that Mr Lamb clearly relishes.
"Buxton is a developing business which prides itself on its dedicated team of professionals who enable the company to provide a full, one-stop service," he says.
"In competitive markets, projects are secured and delivered and relationships are formed due to the strength and flexibility of a company's personnel.
"I am delighted that part of my role with Buxton will involve the introduction of internal training schemes to develop the individual and the team's skills in all aspects of the project process."
Established nearly 30 years ago, Buxton has built up a strong reputation for the successful way that it can manage a range of design-and-build projects in sectors ranging from health and education to industrial. The firm, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Fifehead group of companies, boasts specialist capabilities in fields such as design and engineering, construction and commercial management, administration and health and safety.
Mr Scott-Lee says: "This an extremely exciting time for the construction industry in the Midlands and especially in Birmingham with the continuous regeneration of both urban and out of town sites.
"Colin's appointment will enable us to continue to expand and build our capability and reputation in the region."
