The Carlyle Group has appointed GVA Grimley as the new joint agents for the Colmore Plaza development in Birmingham.

GVA Grimley's Birmingham office will work alongside Cushman & Wakefield, which will continue with its local, national and international remit.

The move follows the acquisition of the previous joint agents, GSD, by CBRE - a move which created a conflict of interest were the GSD team to continue to hold the Colmore Plaza brief.

CBRE are handling nearby Snowhill. The GVA Grimley team will be headed by Charles Toogood and Ian Stringer.

The 14-storey Colmore Plaza building provides 310,000 sq ft of Grade A office space.

It will be launched by Birmingham City Council Leader Mike Whitby on February 28.
