Occupiers are being given an exclusive glimpse of how the new Two Snowhill building will look when it is finished next year.

Developers Hines and Ballymore have released the latest computer generated images of the development, ahead of its scheduled completion in January 2013.

Two Snowhill is a 14-storey building that will provide more than 300,000 sq ft of Grade A office accommodation, of which 120,000 sq ft is available to let, as well as retail and leisure space.

It will be the only new office building in Birmingham to be delivered to the market until at least 2015.

Richard Probert, senior development manager for Ballymore, said: “We are entering a really exciting phase of the development. The building is about to be ‘topped out’ and will be wind and water tight later this month, after which work can begin in earnest on the internal areas.

“The new CGIs give a real impression of how the finished space will look and demonstrate just what a fantastic building Two Snowhill will be.

“It is an exemplary building and will set a new benchmark for office space in Birmingham.”

As part of the BREEAM ‘Excellent’ scheme, Hines and Ballymore, on behalf of Hines European Development Fund II, have also committed to improving the wider public realm and environment around the building with the installation of a ‘green wall’ between the scheme and Snowhill Station.

The 220m long and up to seven-metre high wall will incorporate 604 sq m of planting, interspersed with decorative steel panels, and will be the largest of its kind in Europe.

“It’s going to be massive,” said Mr Probert.

“The sheer size of it will create a fantastic feature for the development and will enhance the public realm, making it a pleasant and relaxing space for people to enjoy, as well as helping to improve the surrounding natural environment.

“Furthermore, there are plans to remove the part-built cores from phase three once Two Snowhill is complete to create an additional landscaped area, pending re-development of that part of the site.”

Joint agents for the development are CBRE and GBR Phoenix Beard.
