The Birmingham office of Gerald Eve LLP will handle all rating work in the Midlands for leading UK pharmacy and beauty chain Alliance Boots as part of a major new contract.
Gerald Eve’s rating team beat eight rivals for the five-year contract, which covers a portfolio of around 2,700 properties UK-wide with a rateable value of £100m.
Gerald Eve’s new contract will commence in April 2009 and encompasses a comprehensive rates management service and rating appeals work, with the primary focus being the important 2010 rating revaluation.
Peter Gould, rating associate at Gerald Eve in Birmingham, said: “The addition of the Alliance Boots portfolio means that our Birmingham-based rating team will be providing rating advice on over 4,000 properties.
“In the current economic climate, clients are targeting potential rate savings as a means of cutting costs and are increasingly turning to experts for professional advice on maximising reductions in their bills.”
Gerald Eve’s national head of rating, Jerry Schurder, added: “This major new client win is testimony to the calibre and depth of the rating service and team that we can provide to blue-chip occupiers across the UK.
“Among the factors in our favour were our extensive client base, the high quality of our rates payment management service and our bespoke rating software, which is well suited to large portfolios where flexibility of financial reporting is key.”
