Once the home of ATV in Birmingham, new photos show the last vestiges of the television studios as they come down to make way for the £400 million Arena Central development.

Taken this week from the 25th floor of Alpha Tower, the images show demolition and construction crews preparing the ground so work can start on office blocks 1 and 2 Arena Central.

The latter is going to be the home of thousands of HSBC staff after the bank recently signed a deal to buy the 11-storey building before a single brick had been laid.

The 9.2-acre site will eventually house three office buildings, two residential blocks, a Holiday Inn Express and a public realm on the long-vacant plot opposite the Library of Birmingham.

It is being built by Arena Central Developments, a joint venture between Miller Developments and Pro Vinci Asset Management.
