Property partners Stoford Developments and GE Real Estate have signed up the first occupier at refurbished Maple House in Birmingham city centre.
ETC Venues, one of the UK's leading providers of meeting, training and event venues, has agreed to take 15,000 sq ft of space at the five-storey office building as the first stage of a national roll out programme.
The London-based company is to move into one and half floors of the landmark building on a 15-year lease at a rent of £22.50 per square foot in June.
Maple House, which overlooks Corporation Street, has undergone a three-year £1.5-million refurbishment to bring it up to Grade-A standard.
Alastair Stewart, managing director of ETC Venues, said: "Birmingham's reputation as a business city and the availability of centrally based Grade A space convinced us to select Maple House to pioneer our nationwide expansion programme."
Jason Adderley, Stoford director, said: "We are delighted to have met the demanding requirements of a prestigious London company. ETC Venues will provide a much needed resource to Birmingham's financial and professional services sector.
"We have also had a lot of interest in the nearly 29,000 sq ft of floor space remaining, which is available over two and half floors in flexible plate sizes and on flexible terms at highly competitive rates."
Agents are the Birmingham offices of DTZ and GBR.
* The Birmingham Post and ETC Venues have three complete conference packages to give away at Maple House in a special competition. Details will be revealed on birminghampost.net from Tuesday May 27.
