The local branch of a national charity is the latest occupier at LCP’s Pensnett Estate in Kingswinford.

Dudley Crossroads has taken up residence at the Innovation Centre, moving from Stourbridge to a 757 sq ft unit at Watt House.

The charity aims to improve the lives of carers by allowing them regular breaks from their responsibilities. Its Dudley branch has been ‘caring for carers’ in the borough since 1982, providing about 20,000 hours of respite time.

Carol Law, manager of Dudley Crossroads, said: “The appeal of the Innovation Centre is that we are not simply part of a faceless office block. We have more individuality because our brand name is clearly visible on the property and not hidden by other companies.

“We also benefit from disabled access, which is very important for us, and good estate security.”

Crossroads offers home-based respite care for carers of people with physical disabilities. More than 4.7 million hours of support are provided nationally every year to about 37,000 carers.

In Dudley, the charity employs 24 community care workers and five part-time members of staff at its Pensnett office.

It is one of a number of charities to relocate to Pensnett in recent years, with other organisations such as Action Heart, the Alzheimer’s Society and Dudley Stroke Association all attracted by the range of accommodation, attractive surroundings and easy access.

London and Cambridge Properties is a major private owner of industrial and retail property and manages assets worth more than £1 billion.

The Innovation Centre comprises four buildings with individual business units, each with their own entrance.

The development is in landscaped surroundings near to the main estate entrance.

Units from 757 sq ft up to 3,000 sq ft are now available.
