The surprise merger between two of Birmingham's best known corporate names has been completed.
Business advisory firm Deloitte and property consultants Drivers Jonas have merged to create Drivers Jonas Deloitte, a 700-strong specialist real estate advisory arm of Deloitte.
The merger will see DJ’s team of 50 move from Cornwall Court to join Deloitte’s real estate team at their Midlands headquarters in BrindleyPlace
Gary Cardin, who headed up Drivers Jonas’ Birmingham office, said: “The merger has been delivered on plan and on time and this has kept staff focused and momentum driving forward. It is a tremendous achievement and a credit to all staff. Integration of the two businesses is very firmly underway and it is amazing how much immediate synergy there is.
“Whilst our current focus is on our clients and existing instructions including the new wholesale markets at the Hub for PruPrim, advising on a range of regeneration and development projects to Slough Borough Council and providing ongoing advice to the Homes and Communities Agency plus key support to the NPIA (National Policing Improvement Agency), we are also seeing immediate work streams as a direct result of the merger. This holds well to developing further the respective opportunities across Drivers Jonas Deloitte.”
Richard Edwards, Midlands practice senior partner at Deloitte, said: “Now that the merger has been completed we are all very much looking forward to working together. We will be able to provide a more comprehensive property advisory service to our clients and continue to grow our real estate practice.”
John Connolly, chief executive of Deloitte, said: “We will connect the financial, tax and business insights of Deloitte with our comprehensive suite of real estate solutions to help our clients address their business and property opportunities.”
