Birmingham property chartered surveyor and auctioneers CPBigwood has won a major contract in the capital.

The agency has won a management brief from the Berkeley Group, which is headed up by Tony Pidgley CBE and is one of the UK's largest housebuilders.

It will be looking after Saffron Square, a mixed-use development of apartments, penthouses and commercial units in Croydon, which is currently 43 storeys high but with another ten to be added, cementing its place as the tallest in the town.

The scheme is due to be completed in 2017.

Brett Williams, partner in the residential service charge department at CPBigwood, said: "This is a prestigious development with excellent links into London and Gatwick Airport.

"The management contract was secured following competitive tendering which included an interview. We are really pleased to be working with such an impressive client as Berkeley.

"We hope it will be the beginning of a long standing relationship with the group."

CPBigwood currently manages nearly 25,000 units in developments across the country ranging from small individual blocks to large estates, comprising many hundreds of homes.
