Preparations are under way for the opening of a £22 million hotel in Shirley which has created more than 100 jobs.
The Village hotel, on The Green Business Park, near junction 4 of the M42, will open its doors on October 12.
Recruitment has already begun for the 28,000 sq ft four-storey hotel and general manager Tony Elvin said he was confident it would prove a hit with businesspeople and social visitors.
The 128-bedroom hotel was part of a £60 million corporate strategy investment by Village Hotels and facilities include a pub, gym and swimming pool.
Mr Elvin said: “Solihull has a vibrant corporate and social community, which we believe will appreciate our business model. We have strived to create a hotel which has an element to suit every need and with the Verve Grill, Victory Pub and Kitchen, Starbucks, Velocity Health and Fitness and The Hub meetings and events area, we believe we have achieved this.”
Gary Davis, CEO at Village, added: “The opening of our new premises in Solihull is another big step forward for Village Hotels. The Village experience offers more than just a hotel. Its location and facilities are sure to be a huge success with local people and businesses. With every new site we open we strive to become a major part of the local community and with Village Solihull we are confident we will have something for everyone.”
